Very decent and overly underrated compilation that has slowly drowned in the forgetfulness of a time passed by. Quiet Riot adheres to their formula of almost plagiarizing AC/DC with a decent energetic track and thats pretty much all. Rest of the crew will go bite to the bone on Iron Maiden'sque tracks, although with "Kick Axe" we have a premonition on what could be the Amebix origins with its Thrashy, semi industrial riffs and repetitive tempos and with 220 Volt once again we have intuitions on Speed Metal. (5) Covers by Hanoi Rocks (2) Covers of Hanoi Rocks Songs (3) Sort: Most Popular. Hanoi Rocks and Madam X cover the energinizing cocaine fueled motion granted to Glam metal, truly pionneers for what it will be next years expansion and Horizon and Stevie will deliver the note for synth influenced Metal a la Europe. Michael Monroe, Timo Kaltio, Stefan Piesnack, Nedo Soininen, Peki Sirola, Tumppi Varonen, Nasty Suicide, Gyp Casino, Sami Yaffa, Conny Bloom, Stevie Klasson, Costello Hautamki, Timpa Laine, George Atlagic. Gli Hanoi Rocks sono stati una band rock formata in Finlandia nel 1979. "Vengeance" follows in close similarity to then switch to "Trust" frenchies that deliver an unconventional form of Hard Rock thats the only remnant from the 70's and early 80's sound here and curiosly the only type ballad at disposition. "Pretty Maids" will serve as example from the boundaries of mixing typical NWOBHM with Speed Metal resulting a solid kicker. The feeling of wilderness and speedy tempos present here tacitly declares the beginning of the end for hard rock paradigms inscript into the NWOBHM model and the inception of Speed and Thrash metal concepts but we can observe also the typical influences that define Glam Metal and Synth based Heavy Metal bands, in short a synthesis of the 80's sound but with an incentive of the future scene.
This breakpoint compilation offers a selection of very rude, sometimes awkwardly wild Heavy Metal that serves as advent of the forthcoming Speed and Thrash Metal offspring. Curiously most of the bands remain relatively known to obscure, even though their quality its quite remarkable for the NWOBHM standard.
Note this will be changing as brands and woodshops update their information but I will try to copy relevant pics to here in this post so they are all in the one place and people don't have to look through all the previous threads or the 30+ pages of. This is probably the first Heavy Metal album I was exposed in my life & it was quite intense back in the day. The third and last post will be an accumulated list of information with pics of various woodshops markings, so they are all in the one place.
